Justice for Joyce Wells

A long-time resident of Columbus, 58-year-old Joyce Wells was diagnosed with breast cancer at the beginning of December 2016. She very quickly had two tumors removed and will be starting radiation therapy in January. At 6 o’clock in the morning the week before Christmas, Joyce and her husband were disturbed from their sleep by a loud noise.

Community Cause

Vandals had driven their vehicle into the Wells’ front yard, smashing into the vehicles parked in the driveway. All three of Joyce’s vehicles were totaled, leaving her with no transportation to her treatments. Their family is devastated by such a cruel, nonsensical act. They are hesitant to seek justice, because of the vandals’ complete disregard for the destruction of property. Joyce has already lost herhealth, transportation, and cannot afford to lose her home of more than 30 years.

The Erlanger Agency deeply empathizes with Joyce Wells, and hopes to engage the community to support the entire Wells family during this difficult time. The vandals tried to rob Joyce of her dignity but she remains strong for her grandchildren. We are raising awareness and funds so that justice is served and Joyce can concentrate on recovering from breast cancer! Getting involved has never been so simple, or Free!
